By the Dark Sea

This started as a sketch of two students on a rock climbing trip in the Crimea, in the 90s. They were looking into the night sea, lit by a street light on the shore.

Finished recently, pastel, ink and graphite on A4 paper. Turned out to pe a part of my unintentional “Two Explorers” series.

Those two also could be elves, mesmerised by the waves, or padawans, pondering over the meaning of life, or anybody else – you decide.
