Jedi Icon

I painted this artwork almost entirely in 1988, a couple of years after watching the whole of Star Wars original trilogy. Notice that pink energy globe the spirit is holding and compare it to the orb Queen Amidala holds at the end of The Phantom Menace (1999).

Jedi were one of my favourite themes in the movies, and as I recently realised, this was because of their balance of the incredible physical abilities and incredibly self aware, philosophical mindsets. I simply though no human being could be like that. Fortunately real people proved me wrong.

The paper is a bit vintage, the edges a bit rough. Better frame the painting under glass.
